Social skills and reducing aggression are among the important characteristics that are necessary for the success of people in society. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of emotional intelligence on social skills and reduce aggression with the mediating variable of self-esteem among women heads of welfare households in Sarakhs. This study was conducted by field method among the statistical population of female heads of welfare households in Sarakhs city in 1399, whose number was 200 people. The statistical sample according to Morgan table was 127 women of Sarakhs city who were selected by non-probability sampling method. The Schott et al. (1998) Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire (1998), Coopersmith Self-Esteem Questionnaire (1967), Matson Social Skills (1983), and Bass & Perry Aggression Questionnaire (1992) were the questionnaires used in this study. Data and data analysis including descriptive statistics, structural equation modeling and path analysis were performed in Excel, SPSS and Smart PLS software. The results showed that emotional intelligence affects self-esteem, also self-esteem affects social skills and reduces aggression, and also emotional intelligence affects social skills and reduces aggression through the mediating variable of self-esteem, but the direct effect of emotional intelligence on Social skills and the direct effect of emotional intelligence on reducing aggression is not significant.
