Abstract

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of anxiety caused by corona virus on the academic motivation of female students in the first high school of Sanandaj in the academic year 1399-1400. The statistical sample of the study using Morgan table was 118 people. For data collection, two types of standard coronavirus anxiety questionnaire (CDAS) (1398) and academic motivation questionnaire (AMS) Warland (1992) were used, the reliability of which is 0.91 and 0.88, respectively. The collected data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression analysis. The results showed that the status of academic motivation components in these two schools is moderate to high. The correlation between the research hypotheses also showed that there is a negative and significant relationship between the dimensions of the components of anxiety caused by students' academic motivation. As a result, by providing counseling and psychological interventions to reduce COVID-19 anxiety in schools, we can see an increase and improvement in students' academic motivation.
