Investigating the Relationship Between Quality of Working Life and Happiness in Terms of Life Satisfaction among High School Teachers in Azadshahr City in 1393-1394 Academic Year

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between quality of working life and happiness in terms of life satisfaction among high school teachers in 93-94 academic year. Research methodology was a survey and the statistical population consisted of all the high school teachers in Azadshahr(N=148)  in 1393-94 academic year. A sample size of 102 people was identified based on Cochran formula. The samples were selected by simple random sampling. Data collection tools consisted of QWL Dalton, Diener life satisfaction questionnaires and Lyubomirsky Happiness Questionnaire (SHS), the Reliability of which was determined 0/91, 0/919 and 0/92 respectively through Cronbach's alpha. Data was analyzed using statistical methods including Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test. The results showed that the quality of working life and life satisfaction was slightly lower than the average and the level of happiness was a little more than the average. Also it was found that age, work experience and gender had no significant relationship with the quality of working life and happiness but age and gender had a significant relationship with life satisfaction. Also it was shown that education had a significant correlation with the quality of working life. In addition, there was no correlation between the quality of working life and happiness but there was a significant positive correlation between the quality of working life with happiness and life satisfaction. This means that the quality of working life and happiness can influence the level of life satisfaction.
