The aim of this research was to compare overweight students with normal students in terms of cognitive fusion, academic engagement and enjoyment of physical activities. For this purpose, 178 overweight students were selected by purposeful sampling and 178 normal students from secondary schools in Shahrekord city were selected by random sampling and answered questionnaires on cognitive fusion, academic engagement and enjoyment of physical activity. The findings were analyzed using multivariate analysis of variance and SPSS software. The findings indicated that overweight students scored higher in cognitive fusion. The enjoyment of physical activity was lower in these people. The findings showed that the behavioral and motivational involvement of overweight students was significantly lower than that of normal people, but no significant difference was observed in cognitive involvement.
