The effectiveness of group-based counseling based on schema therapy on early maladaptive schemes

Abstract

 
 
 
The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of counseling with the schema therapy approach to change the initial maladaptive schemas of the students. For this reason, this research was conducted in a semi-experimental manner in this way, among the students of the single daughter of the Farhangian University of Shiraz, Salman Farsi Branch A sample of 30 people is selected in the available sampling form in two groups of 15, They were placed in experimental and control groups. Yang Schemes (short form) questionnaire was used as a measurement tool in pre-test and post-test. Treatment-based interventions were conducted in 16 sessions with a group counseling method. The results were analyzed using SPSS software and covariance analysis. The statistical results showed that group counseling based on schema therapy. The statistical results showed that group counseling based on the schema therapy was effective in changing 8 maladaptive schemas such as emotional deprivation, emancipation, distrust / mistreatment, social isolation / alienation, defect / shame, dependence / incompetence, obedience and emotional restraint. It can be concluded that these tutorials have led to a change in maladaptive schemas, and that training can change the maladaptive schemas.
