The relationship between emotional intelligence and quality of work life with employee creativity

Abstract

 
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional intelligence and quality of work life with creativity. Due to the nature of the research subject and goals, the descriptive correlational method was used and its statistical population consisted of all education staffs of 2 Bandar Abbas district (n = 120) in 1397 and the sample size was based on population census method. And it covers all of society. Data were collected using three standard questionnaires of emotional intelligence (Golem man 1996), Torrance Creativity (1973) and Walton Quality of Work Life (1973). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression. The results showed that there is a direct and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and quality of work life with creativity and among these variables, emotional intelligence is a stronger predictor of creativity. On the other hand, there was a direct and significant relationship between the components of quality of work life with creativity, and among its variables, providing immediate opportunities for development and utilization of human capabilities was a stronger predictor of creativity than other variables. Also, there is a direct and significant relationship between all components of emotional intelligence with creativity, and among these variables, self-awareness is a stronger predictor of creativity than other variables.
